What makes a work

  • All photographs are limited edition. Each print is signed, numbered, and dated. My logo is centered, in the lower margin of each print.

  • Photographs are printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper - a fine art, 100% cotton, heavyweight matte paper. Ink is pigment-based instead of dye-based for longer lasting color.

  • Each piece is framed as a singular work of art, handcrafted from reclaimed or salvaged wood.

  • I use only museum glass.

  • In a small display box, centered along the bottom of each frame, I include objects representing the four elements: fire, water, earth, and air. (wood charcoal, mineral oil, soil, and a milkweed seed respectively) These are symbolic of the interconnectedness of all life and are a reminder that humans must do better.

  • Finally, I include a magnetic, removable, engraved, wooden plaque which displays essential information about the photograph, the frame, the significance of the elements, and the meaning of my logo.

WeForest Donation

Ten percent of all sales are donated to WeForest, an organization that devotes itself to the reforestation of our world’s forests. As of this writing, they have planted nearly 90 million trees. A tremendous accomplishment for one small organization; however, it is estimated that we need to plant around 1.2 trillion trees to really combat rising CO2 levels. Planting trees is one of the most effective and efficient ways we have to reduce global warming, assuming of course that we reduce and eventually stop using the fossil fuels. Upon your purchase I will inform you of your contribution and the number of trees your purchase has gone towards planting.

Making a Frame

My Logo

Art can be powerful. It can change minds. My hope is that my art is a catalyst for change. With this hope in mind, I created my logo.

The circle represents our home, Planet Earth. The hourglass represents time. The five horizontal lines in the bottom of the hourglass represent the five mass extinction periods that have occurred in the past. The single line falling through the hourglass represents our current mass extinction period, caused by us.

The logo has a second meaning as well. Representative of photography, the circle is the lens, the hourglass, a symbol for the refraction of light. Each of the horizontal lines represent a photo previously captured, and the angled line represents the image I am currently taking.
